Frank Fullard Clark, Jr. adopted by Mr. Clark at age 2. His father was
Judge J. F. Bailey of Martin Co., Ky. Frank always thought Mr. Clark was his
father until 1988, when advised of circumstances by niece, Louise (upon
request).
OBIT: Mr. Frank Clark, Jr., Retired electrician: Mr. Frank F. Clark, Jr. 77, of 3415 Rushing Road, died Monday, Feb. 16, 1998, at Columbia Augusta Medical Center.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Elliott Sons Funeral Home, Lumpkin Road, with the Rev. Colin Dacus officiating. Burial will be in a Hillcrest Memorial Park. Mr. Clark, a native of Inez, KY., had retired from Federal Paper Board as an electrician. He was an Army veteran of World War II, where served as a paratrooper, and was a member of American Legion Post No. 205. He was a member of Senior Friends and was a Methodist. Survivors include his wife, Ellen D. Clark, a son, Frank F. Clark III, Augusta; a sister Esther Outlaw, Norfolk, Va; and one grandchild. Pallbearers will be Tom Glassburn, Walt Haskins, Tony Patterson, Jack Ballard, Bill Maxwell and Ken Kimberly. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the electrical shop of International Paper. Memorials may be made to Mann Memorial United Methodist Church, 2705 Milledgeville Road, Augusta, GA 30904. Friends may call at the residence. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Additional survivors include one son, Frank F. Clark III; one grandson, Bryson Andrew Clark; one sister, Esther Outlaw. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mann Memorial United Methodist Church, 2705 Milledgeville Road, Augusta, GA 30904. Private F. C. Frankie Clark who is serving with the Parachute Battalion of the
U. S. Army, stationed at Fort Benning, GA., has returned to duty after spending a three-day leave visiting his mother, Mrs. F. F. Clarke and family of South Covington. Private Clark, who enlisted two years ago, has received his diploma as a qualified parachutist. For 19 months after enlistment he was stationed at Edgewood Arsenal, in Maryland, and from there he was transferred to Fort Bragg, N.C. Then later he was sent to Fort Benning, GA. Private Clark is reported to be the first boy from Alleghany County to have the honor of receiving a diploma as a qualified parachutist. He expects to be appointed as an instructor in this branch of service. 12
