Griffiths, copyright 1981, Tempe AZ. Address: 5804 S. Count ry Club Way, Tempe, AZ 85283 This is a small paperback book (approx 50 pages). Call No. 929.273 G875gg The book contains maps, pictures and information o n several generations of Griffiths. Here are some excerpts from the early chapt ers: ************************************* In his foreword, George said he tried, unsuccessfully, to determine Robert's parentage. He spent three weeks i n Wales in 1974 and developed information of several possible ancestors. Rob ert married Eleanor Watkins, daughter of Richard and Jane Watkin, by Banns and consent of parents performed by David Jones, Curate of Carno Church, in the pre sence of John Thomas and Richard Davies. By 1829 the family had become non-c onformist (i.e., left the Church of England/Wales) and embraced the beliefs of Wesleyan Methodism. His son, Robert was baptized in the Wesleyan Chapel 26 N OV 1829. The family's residence was noted as Pennyffrith ('head or end of the enclosure'), parish of Carno. Evan was baptized 19 NOV 1833. The family's re sidence was noted as Pentre ('homestead'). John was baptized 27 JUN 1836. Th e family's residence was noted as Rhos y gwalieu, ('wall of roses'), Carno. 1841 UK Census for Penrhiwr 'top of the hill', Transcoed Tp. Eleanor Griffit h Age 30 Richard 10 (b.
