This Jesse Crum was the father of John Wesley Mosley. According to John
Mosley's daughter, Frances Mosley Collins Clark, John had step brothers Eli and
Robert, plus others.

Info. from L. Herbert Dawson by e-mail on 6/28/1997 states the following:

Several years ago he interviewed Frosty Romans who was 92 at the time. He knew the story of Jesse as follows: Jesse first married a lady by whom he had no children and then had an affair with a Mosley woman, whom he named as Josephine and had at least one son. After death of first wife, he married a much younger woman, Sarah Jane Music.

He also interviewed a great grandson of Jesse who also had heard the same story. Herb never told the grandson of the previous story but the two were the same. There is no doubt truth to the story with only the name incorrect.
Josephine was the dau. of Malinda who was d/o Martha. It is Martha who no doubt was the "Mosely" woman. 4,5,12,56
Partnership Notes (Martha Horn)
Jesse (1) never married Martha , (a Horn?, not proven), but they had a child or children together, as stated by the marriage record of John Mosley and by my grandmother, d/o John Mosley. Perhaps that is where the confusion comes in.
Apparently my grandmother knew about her father being the son of Jesse (1) and Martha (Horn?) Mosley, but she did not tell me about it until I did some digging myself. So, Milton Crum is correct, as far as I know there was no marriage between Jesse and a Horn.
